There was an explosion in New York at the Port Authority bus station on Monday morning, local time reported by several news sources, including the BBC. The police were alerted to the intersection of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue, two blocks from Times Square.
CNN, referring to New York firefighters, writes that four of the perpetrators were injured and no one was in a life-threatening condition. The only seriously injured is the 27-year-old suspect who was detained.
Referring to the ABC News police sources, he writes that a pipe bomb exploded. It seems that a man has attached a home-made explosive device to his body. Controversial news came from the fact that the bomb exploded deliberately or accidentally.

First they did not treat the situation as a terrorist attack, but then Mayor Bill de Blasio said that the perpetrator had tried to execute a terrorist attack.
The authorities also named the perpetrator: the man was called Akayed Ullah, living in Bangladesh, and living in Brooklyn. Ullah told the police that he put the pipe bomb at work, though they do not know the police. Ullah arrived in the United States in 2011 with a family reunion visa, having been permanently resident and working in New York since then.
From the attacker, one can still know that between 2012 and 2015 he worked as a taxi driver and lives with his brothers in Brooklyn. CNN talked to the owner of the house next door, saying that he was not friendly at all and he was not quite talking to anyone. The tenants of the house said they had heard of the apartment in the last two nights where the bloke lived.
Ullah told the police that he had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State, and that he was attacked because President Donald Trump, a few days ago, announced that the United States would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The metro lines A, C and E were stopped and the stations were evacuated. An eyewitness told CNN that he had just landed from a bus when he heard two explosions two seconds later, with headphones on it.
Port Authority is the busiest US bus station in the United States, serving more than 65 million passengers annually.
